Hey! I'm Joey.

Freelance full-stack developer, snail lover, and catgirl fanatic.

A bit about me

I'm a freelance full-stack developer located in the Boston area.

I've been programming for over 10 years, and working professionally for 3. During that time, I've come to love various technologies, including Vue 3, Nuxt 3, Kotlin (JVM, Android, MPP), and Elixir. I try to dip my toes into just about everything, though, so that list just scratches the surface!

I'm especially passionate about functional programming and its theoretical foundations (Elixir is awesome!), and I'm currently studying computer science at a vocational high school while developing websites for local small businesses. If you're interested in working with me, feel free to reach out!

Outside of work, I'm a massive fan of anime, 4X games, old-school Pokémon, cats, and terrestrial snails - they make for surprisingly great pets. Tinkering with Linux is also quite fun; I'm currently daily-driving Pop!_OS.

Even over my relatively short lifetime, technology has continued to change the world in ways I never could have imagined; AI, decentralization, and the Jamstack are all fascinating. I'm excited to see what the future holds, and I aspire to one day be one of its architects!
